Environmental Health Specialist

Duties and responsibilities: The health specialist is someone who prepares inspection reports and they issues notices and violations. They also respond to citizen complaints like the condition of a place. They protect people from the public from sickness and illness. They protect people from getting harmed and protect them from not getting something bad that why they investigate. They do inspections on places that are exposed to the public like schools, fast foods, hotels,parks,etc. They want to be aware that places are safe for people that are out in the public.

Salary: $37,300 - $57,511 per year

Education: To become an environmental health specialist you need to first have a bachelor’s degree. It has to be related to the fields of biology or chemistry. They must major on toxicology, environmental law. Then you must gain experience on how to deal with these things and make sure that they are safe. 1-3 years of experience is required and be able to clean up anything that is contaminated.

Demand in Profession: It is expected to grow from 10%-15% in the next few years. Many work locally but there needs to be more working outside. The amount of people in this profession is growing which is good.

Reflection; I would not be interested in this career because it’s a lot of work having to search a whole area to make sure that it is safe. Also, it is good that people are making sure that public places are safe for people in our community.

"Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get"

This quote means that when you set a goal for yourself then you will get something back. Setting goals is important and helpful because that helps you achieve new things and you are able to do good things about yourself. Goals will help you with be more successful as long as they believable and you know you will be able to accomplish. For example, you set a goal to become a doctor you need to do what is necessary to be able to accomplish it and work really hard to be able to do it. Being able to finish your goals will make you feel good about yourself and that will show you that you are determined and do what it takes to get you there. Set and get will truly make you want to set goals because when you set all you need to work for is the get. If you set a goal and you don't accomplish it then you know that maybe you need to set smaller goals and small steps to get you there. You can't just give up on yourself because that is what its not going to get you. But anyways goal setting will give you something in life. This quote makes people want to set goals that way they could achieve more and make them happy. 

Columbus Day

       Columbus day is a day when they celebrate when a man Christopher Columbus came and discovered  what he called a “new world” on October12,1492. This day is to celebrate his achievements and the heritage. At first Christopher Columbus was to sail out to India in the western sea route but he ended up going to and landing in the Bahamas. He was the first European man to explore the Americans. Columbus thought that he was in China and Other times in Japan and India but in reality he was in in Cuba and all these other countries. Columbus was so excited for all that he found and went back to Spain showed the king and queen all the goods he found like gold and other spices that they didn’t have in their country. He had even found people there which he called “Indians” but they were actually Native Americans. He found and discovered new things but he wasn’t the first one to be there.

Reflection: My thoughts about this is that he shouldn’t get that much credit for what he did because he wasn’t the first one to discover this land because Native Americans were already living here. All he did was take things way from this land and he got all the credit. Also, since he “discovered” it, it caused more people to want to come here and fool the people on this land and make them dissappear.

Obedience

This quote means that when your dong the right thing then its like a building block because its like your doing something good which is being obedient. When your doing something wrong that is no good then its a a stumbling block because it is something that won't do anything good for you or anyone else. Its like you failing on doing something right because you keep on choosing the wrong. For example, when you are told to do something because a adult told you too then the right thing is to obey and be able to do what you are told and it becomes a building block. When you choose to not not obey and take it as a irritation then its a stumbling block because it is just going to bring you no good. This quote is proven to show how things are wrong or right because when you do something good then its like your building up ad becoming a good person. Doing or choosing the wrong thing will just be a stumble block that will remind you of the negative things. Also, it would just show what kind of person you are and it would be another mistake of yours. When you do the right thing and obey than you will be building blocks. Its better to build them than to be stumbling all around them.

Firefighter

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of a firefighter is to be able to save lives when they are people in trouble. They should be able to perform job functions like saving people and animals life. Their job is very risky and they should be able to stop fires and be able to make sure that everyone evacuates. Firefighters are to perform medical assistance when people are in trouble. They should be able to maintain their skill by doing practice drills and by be able to prevent things. Also, they wait for any emergency call that way they are always prepared.

Salary: $33,230- $55,384

Education: To become a firefighter they need to have a high school diploma, GED and beyond. They need a post secondary degree award and they need to go to fire training. They need to pass their written and physical test to become a firefighter. They also need an EMT certification because it that way it shows that they know how to save lives.

Demand in Profession: It is projected that by 2024 there is a growth of 5%. This means that there are firefighters needed. Yet it is growing as fast as average and its just shows how many are involved. The competition in this job is very strong since many want to become one and help others.

Reflection: I would not be interested in this job because its a very risky job. They have to go through a lot of training . Although, what i do like about this job is that people are saving other people’s lives and they are risking themselves that way someone else could be safe.

This quote explains how the only way you could learn things is by by doing them first and trying it out. Doing them is the only way you could actually be able to do something you have never done and just be able to try something new. You shouldn't be scared in trying something new because the only way by doing it properly is by actually trying to do it properly. For example, if your trying to learn how to ride a bike, the only way you will be able to do it is if you try and that's the way you will learn how to do things. Something i want to learn how to do is being successful. The only way i will be able to accomplish that is by trying new things and taking in opportunities that will help me be what i want. This quote helps others realize that the only way to be able to learn something is by only trying and giving it a chance. Just because you may feel like you can't do it doesn't mean you should give up on it and never be ale to learn something. Always try to learn things you've never done , that could help you want to learn other things. There is a chance it could also get you out of your comfort zone and be able to learn new things because if you don't then your not even trying.

                                         Emergency Medical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: An EMT job is to answer phone calls and be able to provide immediate care to people that are ill or injured. They are to be able to get them somewhere where they could get medical care. Also, they need to find out in what conditions they are so they could determine if they are going to help them or take them to a hospital if it’s something critical. An EMT should be able to handle the stress since they are caring a lot for the patient.

Salary: $29,751- $37,850

Education: In order to become a EMT you need to have a high school diploma or a GED in emergency training. Complete all three trainings that have to do with dealing with injuries, fractures, bleeding,etc. Most of training gets done in community colleges and then when done they get an associates degree. Then they are to become a licensed and registered.

Demand in Profession:The EMT is to be projected and to grown a 24% more until 2024. The number in this industry has been growing quickly which is good for people that are able to reach out in those in need. It’s been growing much more faster than its average.]

Reflection: I would like to be an EMT because i would like to help people that need of the services and i would like to feel proud of being able to save someone life. It could get risky but just being able to help someone could be an impact.
