Pathologist

Duties and Responsibilities: A pathologist is also known as a speech therapist and they help patients learn ways to communicate with others. They help people diagnose, treat and help prevent any communication or swallowing disorder. They are to evaluate patients level of communication and find different ways they could help treat it. Another thing they do is help patients improve their voices and speech.

Salary: $74,680

Education: It is at least required to have a master’s degree and apply for any  programs that they have.Also, graduate programs in speech and language. It also required to be licensed because mostly all states require it and they could only work if they have one. Important qualities they must have is having good communication skills, compassion and listening skills.

Demand or Need for this Profession: The pathologist is projected to grow 21% from 2014 to 2024. Pathologist are needed for the increasing amount of people needing help in their speech.

Reflection: I would be interested in this career because it is nice to always be able to discover something new in science.
