Physical Therapist
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of a physical therapist is to recuperate patients from injuries and surgery. They are to help patients be able to recover their movement and be able to manage the pain. They use equipment to help patients get in the habit of doing exercises that will help improve the difficulty they have. Another thing they do is evaluate the patient’s record to see how they have been improving or not and see if they could make any changes to what exercises they should do.
Salary: The annual salary is $85,400.
Education: It is required to have a DPT degree with programs that are 3 years. Another thing that is required is a bachelor’s degree in anatomy, biology, chemistry, etc. Also, doing 30 weeks of clinical work after being supervised is important to see how you interact with others. Important qualities to have is compassion, physical stamina, and detail oriented.
Demand in Profession: In the physical therapist pathway it is projected to grow 34% from 2014-2024. This is the more than the average for all of the occupations. It is projected to grow this much because there are elderly that are needing help after they have a stroke, heart attack, and mobility issues. Especially since now most of the people that were from the baby boomer time are now retiring.
